About HP Multi Jet Fusion
Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) is an additive manufacturing method invented and developed by the company Hewlett-Packard (HP),introduced to the market in 2016. It creates parts additively with a multi-agent printing process. Your plastic part can be created layer by layer based on your 3D model. It is used as a manufacturing strategy to create unique parts with exquisite surface finishing in a short amount of time.
Multi Jet Fusion is a powder-based technology but does not use lasers. This process is similar to binder jetting, but unlike point-to-point laser-based powder bed systems, MJF distributes agents across the entire print bed in one pass. This significantly decreases the time to print and increases the isotropic properties of the parts. Each layer is fused together with infrared light and cross-links with the layers below.
Advantages of HF Multi Jet Fusion
Multi Jet Fusion uses an inkjet array to selectively apply to fuse and detailing agents across a bed of nylon powder, which are then fused by heating elements into a solid layer. After each layer, the powder is distributed on top of the bed, and the process repeats until the part is complete. This will finally deliver strong, quality, detailed, and functional 3D printed parts.
The Multi Jet Fusion process is the fastest plastic 3D printing technology, perfect for prototyping or manufacturing. Multi Jet Fusion is great for both beginners and experienced professionals because of its high precision and low cost.
