Definition of computer numerical control (CNC)

Computer numerical control (CNC) is a way to control machine tools through software in a microcomputer. It is used mainly in manufacturing for machining metal and plastic parts.

Mills, lathes, routers, grinders and lasers are standard machine tools that can be automated with CNC. It can also control non-machine tools, such as welding, electronic assembly and filament-winding machines.

Types of CNC services Moxperts offer.

CNC turning services

CNC turning is considered the best method to make cylindrical parts with high accuracy and precision. It reduces the diameter of the original workpiece to a specified dimension. The rotation is performed using a lathe and produces a smooth part finish.

There are four different types of turning; straight turning, taper turning, profiling and external grooving. CNC turning can be performed outside a workpiece and inside (known as boring) to produce tubular components.

CNC grinding

A CNC grinding machine is a precision performance tool that uses a rotating wheel to cut material away from metal. Usually, CNC grinding machines are used during the finishing process to create a high-quality metal workpiece for camshafts, ball bearing, transmission shafts, and other working pieces that require precision and perfect finishes. While many pieces created using a CNC grinding machine are cylindrical, a grinding machine can also create other workpieces.

There are several types of CNC grinding machines, including:

CNC roll grinders

CNC crankshaft grinders

CNC plain cylindrical grinders

CNC surface grinders

CNC milling

Milling is a process to cut material like Plasma Cutters, but its process is different from plasma. The milling blade rotates in a motion ranging from higher to lower to cut wastes from the materials. You have to set it to the correct angle following the right direction. While the X, Y, Z-axis are set in the right direction, you can start your milling operation.

Usually, we can see four types of spheres.

Face milling is a process of surfaces that only allows milling functionality on flat surfaces. And only when the surfaces are positioned at the right angle.

Form milling is another functional surface work when you tend to work with the irregular axis.

Angular milling functioning flat surfaces circulate only at the slope or degree of the cutter’s axis.

Essential milling functions when kept on parallel to the axis of the cutter.

CNC turning-milling

CNC turn-milling combined machine is one of the leading models of compound machine tools. In addition to the functions of CNC lathe, it can also perform planar milling, drilling, tapping, straight groove, spiral groove and gear milling. Turning, milling and boring, and other composite functions can realize the processing concept of one-time clamping and complete finishing. It is one of the fastest-growing processing methods in recent years.
